Outer casing or box is to protect packaged contents - Blemishes or damages such as scratches or discoloration on the case/box. Variations in printing of contents cannot be compensated as they are inevitable during printing process.
My daughter received her e-gift card on time (I ordered it before I needed it and scheduled the day for it to be sent). It could have been a little more visually impactful, for example with a colorful store logo or cute graphic included in the email, but she was happy to receive it and it worked fine when she ordered.
